Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) Covenant

As a community of faith we are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment in which each person is encouraged to grow in their faith.  Anyone who wishes to participate in a CYF activity sponsored by the Puyallup FCC must agree to follow the guidelines of this covenant.

  1. We promote inclusive, respectful behavior.  CYF provides an atmosphere where all are to feel safe, accepted and included at all times.  Behavior that discriminates or excludes another is not acceptable.

  2. Possession or use of drugs, cigarettes, or alcohol is prohibited.  There is zero tolerance for substance use.  Medication may be taken only with permission of a parent or guardian and the knowledge of the youth sponsor.

  3. Public displays of affection (sexualized or intimate behavior) is not permitted at any youth activity.

  4. No forms of violence or harassment; physical, verbal, sexual or other manifestation will be tolerated.  Possession of fireworks or weapons is not permitted.  Any of these objects will be confiscated immediately.

  5. With the goals of safety and community in mind, youth are not to leave any youth activity or event until its conclusion.  Exceptions to this rule must be arranged with the youth sponsor and approved by the parent or guardian prior to the activity.

  6. Everyone will contribute fully to all youth activities.

  7. Language, clothing, or behavior considered offensive, foul, provocative, sexual, belittling, or harmful in any way (as determined by the youth sponsor) will not be tolerated.

  8. For any youth activity requiring transportation off church property, all drivers must be 24 years old or older with proper insurance in order to transport passengers under the age of 18.  Any exceptions will be allowed only upon the approval of a parent/guardian and with the discretion of the youth sponsor.

  9. Each person will treat the church building and property with respect.

  10. Each person agrees to cooperate with all youth sponsors and volunteers.

  11. Use of any electronic devices (including radios, stereos, audio players, electronic games, TVs, cell phones, PDAs, or pagers) at CYF activities will be determined by the youth sponsor.

  12. Appropriate music and/or videos will be allowed at the discretion of the youth sponsor.

  13. CYF participants will be in 7-12th grade (if not in school, upper age limit will be 18).

  14. If it is illegal, you cannot do it or have it.

      *  I understand that failure to meet these standards will result in discipline or removal from the First Christian Church of Puyallup CYF.  The youth sponsor or volunteers will use personal judgment in setting the level of discipline or amount of praise for any situation.
