Lydia, Paul & Silas
(Lydia, Seller of Purple Cloth)

Hard workers like Lydia Makers of purple cloth

In May, Faith Trekkers grades 1 through 6 learned in the art workshop (other workshops included music, games & storytelling, letter writing, and carpentry) that just like Paul, we can spread the word of Jesus Christ, and help to convert or change the minds of those who don't yet know.  From Acts 16:11-40, Lydia and the jailer's baptisms were featured, as well as Lydia's hospitality.  We learned that Lydia was a special woman, partly because she most likely had her own business selling purple cloth, enough money, and a home to share.

Our memory verse was, "6Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Our artists created bandanas of purple cloth while discussing the important points of the story of Lydia, Paul, and Silas.
