In May, Faith
Trekkers grades 1 through 6
- plus a bonus 4 year old! - learned
in our Carpenter's Workshop (other workshops
included music, games & storytelling,
art, and
creative writing) that just like
Paul, we can spread the word of Jesus Christ,
and help to convert or change the minds of those who don't yet
know. From Acts 16:11-40, Lydia's baptism and hospitality were
highlighted. We learned
that Lydia was a woman who had a home to share, and opened it
generously to Paul and Silas.
Our memory
verse was, "6Do
not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known
to God. 7And
the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard
your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Our children built birdhouses - symbols
of hospitality - with the
help of a carpenter in our congregation. The children
learned about tools and construction... as they learned about
hospitality!
