A Week in Mission: Fighting Hunger

Find Your Place in Ministry
As a community of faith called to live out the work of Christ, we engage in many expressions of ministry.
Some are basic and traditional; others are innovative and changing.
New ministries are formed as people are called to reach the needs of our community and the world.

Our Participation in a Sheltering Ministry

I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me a drink, I was homeless and you gave me a room, I was shivering and you gave me clothes, I was sick and you stopped to visit, I was in prison and you came to me.

~Matthew 25:31-46

In November 2006, our church began its participation in Freezing Nights, a Puyallup-based ministry that provides for persons in need of shelter when the temperatures dip to 37 degrees or below.  FCC Puyallup is partnering with several other churches who, on a rotation, provide shelter and meals via this established ministry.  To read a February 2006 Herald article about Freezing Nights, click here

There are many ways you can help.  For more information on how you can support this important cause, contact our site coordinator, Dave Patterson.

(Our church calendar lists all scheduled dates.  To confirm, visit www.weather.com on that day.  If the forecast for zip code 98371 is <37 degrees or below, it's a go!)
