Paul throws down the gauntlet in the opening verses of his letter to the church in Galatia (Galatians 1:1-12). He sees trouble, and in an uncomfortable beginning, his disapproval of the church’s situation is laid bare. From the onset it’s clear, Paul will be pulling no punches in his sweeping criticism of the church’s move from the gospel preached by Paul.
This week Pastor Nancy invites us to sit with the church in Galatia. What do we do when criticism comes? How can we hear what it is saying without reacting defensively and putting up unnecessary barriers to communication?
