Acknowledgement of Land

(An act towards reconciliation)

For thousands of years, First Nations people have walked on this land; their relationship with the land is at the center of their lives and spirituality.  We are gathered on the traditional territory of the Coastal Salish and Puyallup people, and we acknowledge their stewardship of this land throughout the ages.

GATHERING & EXPLORING

Set apart your worship space by lighting a candle along with the video clip.  The light of the candle symbolizes the presence of the Holy wherever we are.

Stewardship Moment        Litany by Billy Collins          A Three-Year Old

This poem is not about each person’s unique and varying gifts, and how, blended with those of others, they are essential to making up the whole body of Christ, but it could be…

The poem’s words may be read here.

Benediction          Book of Common Prayer, 1892

Go forth into the world in peace.
Be of good courage.
Hold fast that which is good.
Render to no one evil for evil.
Strengthen the fainthearted.
Support the weak.
Help the afflicted.
Show love to everyone.
Love and serve the Lord,
rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit;
and the blessing of almighty God,
the Father, the + Son, and the Holy Spirit,
be among you and remain with you always. Amen.
