Welcome to Worship on Sunday, September 6, 2020.
During this time of worship you may wish to have a candle to light and to have bread and a beverage for communion — whatever you have available will be sufficient.

Acknowledgement of Land
(An act towards reconciliation)
For thousands of years, First Nations people have walked on this land; their relationship with the land is at the center of their lives and spirituality. We are gathered on the traditional territory of the Coastal Salish and Puyallup people, and we acknowledge their stewardship of this land throughout the ages.

GATHERING & EXPLORING
Set apart your worship space by lighting a candle along with the video clip. The light of the candle symbolizes the presence of the Holy wherever we are.

Prayer of Confession
Almighty God, from the very beginning, you have designed us for glorious work.
You have given us your Spirit and spread before us limitless resources.
Because you have made us a royal priesthood, we now find ourselves
perfectly matched to meet the needs of the world.
Sadly, we confess that we fall into bad habits.
We are often lazy and self-centered. We grumble and complain.
We cheat when it’s more convenient. We tear one another down.
We deceive and seek our own glory rather than the glory that comes from you alone.
Forgive us, we pray, dear God.
Help us to work in the world in a way that glorifies you in all that we do.
Restore us to our true identity as your ambassadors.
(Pause for silent or spoken prayers.)
In generous reconciliation you forgive us, restore us, renew us
in relationship with you.
We give thanks in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Closing Benediction by Rev. Garry Deverell
O God who goes before:
Give us wisdom enough to live this week
in places of communion with you.
Give us courage enough to follow you
into the difficult places we’d rather avoid.
Give us love enough to bear patiently
with the hurts and struggles of our friends.
Give us peace enough to accept and nurture
our own selves. Amen.
